Basikol contains phytosterols (sitosterol, campesterol and stigmasterol) and Vitamin E. Basikol has been marketed to allow hypercholesterolemic patients to control their cholesterol level, in combination with a balanced diet. It's effectiveness is due to its phytosterol composition, prinicpally that of beta-sitosterol (54.5%).
