This tree originates from India and was discovered by the Europeans in the seventeenth century. In phytotherapy, the young leaves and buds of green tea can be used for slimming diets. Only the non- fermented leaves and buds are used to keep the integrity of the active ingredients.

The caffeine content of green tea promotes draining of the fat outside the adipose tissues (fatty cells), by enzymatic stimulation: the triglycerides that are stored are then mobilised as free soluble fatty acids and therefore are easily eliminated by the body.
The polyphenol content in green tea has a double interest: it permits a progressive liberation of the caffeine, therefore avoiding any nervous and sleeping problems, and can also decrease the assimilation of food carbohydrates and lipids and thus limits calorie intake.
